Manchester City faced Leeds United in Premier League while Liverpool played against Aston Villa. Here’s a brief on English Premier League match updates
Leeds, playing with 10 players thanks to a goal scored in injury time, extended their wait for their English Premier League football title by beating Manchester City 2–1. Liam Cooper of Leeds was shown a red card just before the intermission. However, despite playing with 10 players in the second half, the team won with two goals from Stuart Dalas (42nd and 90 plus 1 minute). The only goal from City was scored by Ferran Torres in the 76th minute. Despite their fourth defeat of the season, City held a 14-point lead with six matches remaining. Second-placed Manchester United, however, have played two matches less than that.
Liverpool, however, kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League by defeating Aston Villa 2–1. On the other hand, the match at Anfield was headed for a draw but Trent Alexander Arnold scored the goal in the first minute of injury time to give the team the victory. Mohammad Salah scored another goal for the team. Olly Watkins scored from Aston Villa. The win puts the fifth-ranked Liverpool in 52 matches from 31 points, just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
