The management of the German Football Association (DFB) wants to see the current coach of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, lead the German national team.
At World Cup 2022, Joachim Löw will also be working with the national team if the Germans reach the semi-finals of the EURO-2020, which will take place in summer 2021.
Löw’s current contract expires after the tournament, which will be held in Qatar.
Klopp will be contacted by DFB after the World Cup to discuss his readiness to lead the German national team.
Sport Bild writes that the leaders of the German Football Association hope that Klopp will coach the team at the 2024 European Championship, which will be held in Germany.
Klopp extended his contract with Liverpool until 2024 in December 2019. He headed the club in the autumn of 2015.
On Monday, the German Football Association issued a statement in which it expressed support for Löw. It said that the coach will prepare the German national team for the Euro.
Löw has been leading the team since August 2006. Under his leadership, the national team won the 2014 World Cup.
