De Laurentiis criticized the Italian government and UEFA

De Laurentiis is identified as a remarkably eccentric character, with no hair on his tongue, who never wavered to enter into conflicts with anyone. Earlier, he scrutinized the city authorities of Napoli for never spending a single penny in their stadium, and now he has unrolled a new conflict with everyone with whom he does not agree.

On a local radio station, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis was a guest and criticized the Italian government and Uefa in a long conversation.

“Does it make sense for the Italian championship to be played in this form? If the fans have to keep their distance in the stands or they can’t even come, then how can footballers get into duels on the field? And now clubs have to spend money on tests and all those procedures because we have an incompetent and irresponsible government that cannot make any sensible decision,” De Laurentiis said, turning to European football.

“If a player from the national team returns infected, do you know how many clubs will sue Uefa for that? They are greedy and don’t care that it might endanger the lives of some people. These people sitting in Uefa are completely incompetent and have no shame in themselves. They introduce financial fair-play, no club adheres to it and no one is punished as it should be. Everyone washes their hands and as if it doesn’t concern them. Uefa has to be taken over by clubs. The Champions League and Europa League also don’t make sense anymore. They are bored with these competitions and god and hell, even that anthem is exhausting. It’s old-fashioned and boring, it all has to change. Kids are no longer interested in the Champions League at all and it’s not a matter of age but of competition culture,” said De Laurentiis.
