David Silva signed Real Sociedad on a free transfer

Former Manchester City player David Silva has joined La Liga side Real Sociedad for two seasons.

The Spaniard’s 10-year stay came to an end at City following a loss against Lyon in Champions League.

The 34-year-old midfielder made 436 appearances and helped City win 14 trophies, coming from Valencia in 2010.

Silva joined Real Sociedad on a free transfer, he had also received an offer from Italian side Lazio for a three-year deal.

In the Premier League, former Spain international made 309 appearances scoring 60 goals, and playing an essential part in City’s four 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2019 title wins.

Having played 70 matches in the Champions League in the last decade, Silva set the record for City’s most European appearances.

He was also in the Spain squads in 2008 and 2012 which won the 2010 World Cup and European Championship.
