David Silva contracted coronavirus

Former Manchester City star David Silva after testing COVID-19 positive is isolating himself says Real Sociedad.

The latest signing of Real Sociedad David Silva has taken the COVID-19 positive test.

The 34-year-old is asymptomatic and has already begun a period of self-isolation, he joined the LaLiga side this month after leaving Manchester City.

On Monday the midfielder was introduced to the media at the Reale Arena and just hours after that the news of him infected of COVID-19 came in.

The club tweeted: “Sociedad informs that @21LVA has tested positive for COVID-19 in the test carried out at Policlínica Gipuzkoa.”

“The player is asymptomatic and is self-isolating.”
