Chelsea secured Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi signing for an extension of a year. That means until 2022 he will be tied to the London club.
However, immediately after signing the new contract, Chelsea forwarded him to the city rival Crystal Palace, where he also spent the last season on loan.
The 27-year-old player has spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and however immediately after signing the new contract, Chelsea again sent him to the city rival.
Initially, Batshuayi wanted to look for a new club to offer him a long-term contract and did not want to go on loan, but after scoring two goals for Belgium in the League of Nations in a 5-1 win against Iceland this week he changed his mind, according to The Athletic.
Batshuayi is a favorite of manager Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park. Last season, in nine starts from the first minute, the Belgian scored five goals, which is an encouraging fact because Crystal Palace scored only 31 goals in 38 championship games last season.
