Christian Eriksen realized, when he stepped up for Inter, he could decide against Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-final. ‘It was for me the ultimate free-kick.’
Additional time was looming as the Nerazzurri could not get past 10-man Milan and the Zlatan Ibrahimovic opener had been canceled by Romelu Lukaku’s penalty.
That is until at the 97th minute Soualiho Meite brought down Lautaro Martinez just outside the box.
“It was the perfect free-kick for me,” Eriksen told Inter TV.
“I’m really happy,” said Eriksen. “I always look to get the most out of the minutes I have available and I’m pleased to have scored from this free-kick, it was perfect for me.”
“We knew that it would be a difficult match, the intensity is high in Derbies. It was tough, but we’re pleased to reach the next round.”
“I dedicate this victory to my newborn daughter, my family, and all of the fans.”
