Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has committed to rest at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old was frequently linked with a move away from the club throughout Maurizio Sarri’s time as head coach and struggled for regular action with the Blues.
However, Denmark international has been a regular, under Frank Lampard, making 23 appearances in all competitions and starting 10 of the club’s last 11 Premier League matches.
Before saying he would be open to continuing his present agreement, which will end in the summer of 2022, Christensen proclaimed his “heart” for the London club.
“I’ve never looked anywhere else,” Christensen told Sky Sports News. “I’ve never doubted my situation. I’ve always had my eyes at Chelsea.”
“I’ve had my contract and I’ve always expected to finish that and I’ve always dreamed of even more than that. Nothing has changed. Obviously it was a different situation last season but I still love being here, that’s the short answer.”
On Wednesday night as Chelsea endured a 3-2 loss, Christensen played the entire 90 minutes at West Ham United in the Premier League.
