Chelsea will spend £200m to strengthen team

Chelsea after becoming Champions of Europe wants to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window. The Londoners can spend up to £200m on new signings as head coach Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to sign a striker, a midfielder, and at least one defender.

On Saturday Tuchel and club owner, Roman Abramovich had a meeting post their 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League final. The German outlined his vision to Abramovich when both met again on Sunday morning. Tucheel claims to build an empire at Chelsea. The outcome of the talks between the club coach and owner is described as “positive”.

To fill their space in the positions of striker the Blues are keen on Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Inter forward Romelu Lukaku, while Chelsea is also considering the option of buying Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, according to The Telegraph.

Furthermore, Tuchel would like to see Wolverhampton midfielder Adam Traore at Chelsea to increase competition on the right wing. He is also interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jonas Hofmann.

Tuchel is highly interested in West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will initiate communications with the 22-year-old. But if they fail to negotiate with Rice, the Blues are eyeing on Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni as a cheaper alternative.

Andreas Christensen and N’Golo Kanté are expected to extend their contracts with the London club. Thiago Silva’s contract prolongation has been already agreed upon. On the other hand, the coach also wants Chelsea to continue with Antonio Rüdiger, but there has been little progress in negotiations so far.
