Chelsea stumped up £47.5million for Timo Werner

There was a confirmation of Timo Werner move to Chelsea for the reported Liverpool target, after that Jurgen Klopp was not favored to address Timo Werner.

Several European heavyweight clubs caught their eye on RB Leipzig star Werner, whereas for the signature of Germany international, Liverpool believed to be the early front runners.

But to secure his services Chelsea stumped up £47.5million (€53 m), this week revealing the deal.

At Everton on Sunday, Klopp’s waiting champions renewed their pre-match news conference campaign and the Liverpool manager wasn’t interested to discuss about the new joining at Stamford Bridge.

“We don’t really judge for new players coming in, typically the first two, three or four months,” Klopp said.

“I know the public does, and that means we always have to explain why this or that is not the way it is.”

“The more time you receive benefits, for whatever reason. We had four weeks that is the longest pre-season I’ve ever had with any side of Liverpool together, by the way.

“That’s a huge difference, usually for one [week] we’re all together, last year it wasn’t even a week since Sadio [Mane] came back.”

Klopp added: “That’s how it helped, and Taki, 100%. He looks really different at the moment from the first three weeks when he tried to please everyone and do whatever we say, and he’s not 100 % comfortable with that in a language.”

“He had much more time to settle now and he was settling down.”
