It is only predicted that after scans on a knee injury revealed that surgery will only be needed as a last resort Chelsea right-back Reece James would miss a few weeks of action.
For a number of weeks, the England international had been struggling with a mild knee injury but complained of increased pain after a collision with Wolves’ Daniel Podence in the 2-1 loss on Tuesday and was, therefore, sent for a scan.
Initially, it was suspected that James could be sidelined for the next few months for a required surgery but the scan on the affected area has returned reasonably positive according to Simon Johnson reports from The Athletic.
With Cesar Azpilicueta scheduled to step in and the young right-back deputy, James is also likely to miss the meeting with West Ham on Monday and will possibly also sit out the fight with Arsenal on Boxing Day.
