Michy Batshuayi will sign a contract extension at Chelsea and is set to go back on loan to Crystal Palace.
In 2016 the Belgian joined the club and since he has struggled to break into the Blues first team, making just 16 appearances last season in the Premier League and scoring only once.
He impressed during his temporary stay, striking six times in only 13 games and previously spent the second half of the campaign in Selhurst Park in 2018/2019 on loan. That was good enough to see him finish as fourth top scorer for the Eagles.
Roy Hodgson is keen to bring back the 26-year-old and Chelsea is open to the move. However, before he departs the Blues want to tie Batshuayi down on a longer deal, according to The Guardian. The current contract for the striker expires next summer and they are wary of losing him in a year’s time on a free transfer.
