Chelsea beat West Ham with Werner’s single goal

Chelsea moved closer to winning a Champions League place as The Blues beat West Ham 1–0 in the English Premier League (EPL), thanks to an excellent performance by German forward Timo Werner. Since February, Werner scored his first goal and helped Thomas Tuchel’s side defeat top-four rivals West Ham United.

After a well-worked pass involving Christian Pulisic, Werner scored from Ben Chilwell’s cross, his sixth Premier League goal since joining from RB Leipzig. Werner started and finished the game-winning step after he failed to make an impact since joining the club for £47 million last summer. With this Timo Werner became Man of the Match.

Balbuena of West Ham’s team was shown the red card in the 81st minute and then the team had to play with 10 of its players. West Ham failed to build opportunities and ended the game with ten men after Fabian Balbuena was sent off for hitting Chilwell’s leg with his follow through when clearing the ball in the 81st minute.

The only goal in this match played late on Saturday came from Chelsea, which was scored by Werner in the 43rd minute. This is the sixth goal since Werner left RB Leipzig and joined Chelsea. West Ham is now at number five after their loss and are three points short of Chelsea. At the same time, Sheffield United beat Brighton 1–0 thanks to David McGoldrick’s only winning goal.
