On Tuesday night in Turin, Juventus qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with a 4-2 victory over Zenit. With Paulo Dybala seeing a low shot saved before opening the scoring two minutes later Juve had a strong start, blasting the ball into the ground and sending it arching into the net following a knockdown by Leonardo Bonucci. With a win over Zenit on Tuesday, Juventus retained their flawless Champions League record and qualified for the last-16.
When Bonucci mistakenly hooked a header over his own goalie the Bianconeri were pegged back 26 minutes into the football match despite their early domination. Dybala went close with a wonderful curling effort after half-time and doubled his tally from the penalty spot after Federico Chiesa was tripped by Claudinho.
The Argentine missed his first penalty kick, but the referee ordered it to be retaken due to encroachment, and the 27-year-old made no mistake the second time around. Wojciech Szczesny made two fine low stops before Weston McKennie smashed the crossbar at the opposite end following a mazy dribble.
To seal the win, the defender reaches out and fires low across the goalkeeper into the other corner. Alvaro Morata squeezed home to complete a move he started after another effort was cleared off the line by the effervescent Italian. For Zenit, Sardar Azmoun added a second in stoppage time, but it was merely a consolation. Watch football highlights of Juventus win over Zenit in the Champions League.
