Carragher: Liverpool needs to win EPL and put Manchester United in their place

Ahead of the 19th round Premier League match against Manchester United, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has spoken out.

“I think this game is more important for Liverpool (than for Man Utd). They have a bigger burden on them,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“If Man Utd get an away result, then there will be a belief that they can win the championship. People think Man United can fall in the table and Liverpool still have the advantage, but if the Mancunians win at Anfield, it will shock the EPL.”

“This is a match in which Liverpool need to show they are champions. Liverpool need to get a result and show a game that will put Manchester United in their place.” 

Liverpool will host Man Utd on Sunday, January 17.
