Ramon Calderon, former Real Madrid president explained that Lionel Messi resigning from Barcelona will indicate a hit to all of La Liga.
Calderon told Stats Perform News: “If Messi goes, it would be very hurtful for the image, the quality, the presentation of LaLiga.”
“We were very fortunate to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi in our league for the past 10 years, the world’s greatest two players by the way. They will no longer be here, they won’t be with us. It’s very hurtful for our league and the fans.”
“The loss against Bayern definitely hurt him a lot. This makes Messi reconsider his future, particularly because in two years there will be a World Cup. I’m sure he’d love to be there and win the cup,” he added.
“Yeah, he’s probably thought Barcelona’s future isn’t the greatest for his ambitions so he’s making that step.”
“For me, it’s been a little surprising because I thought he’d already agreed to end his career at Barcelona, but it seems like these latest actions motivated him to leave the club.”
