La Liga match between Valencia and Cadiz was interrupted due to an alleged racist incident at the Ramon Carranza. After taking the comment personally Valencia’s players left the field in favor of teammate Mouctar Diakhaby. He had gotten into a verbal spat with Cadiz’s Juan Cala in the incident that prompted the exit.
Cadiz took a lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Cala, but Kevin Gameiro equalized five minutes later. The game was disrupted about the half-hour mark, and both sets of players reappeared without Diakhaby. Valencia then tweeted that during the break, the team met and agreed to return to the field while staying committed to combating racism.
Marcos Mauro scored in the 88th to give Cadiz the 2-1 win.
