The spectacular game of Brazil and Argentina, which are counted among the two great teams of world football, was once again seen. Both the teams that played in the final of the Copa America football match made a move ahead with victory in the World Cup qualifiers. The strikers of both Brazil and Argentina team Neymar and Lionel Messi have brought the name of the team to the whole world.
In Thursday’s South American World Cup qualifier, both teams won their matches, with neither Lionel Messi netting for Argentina nor Neymar scoring a goal for Brazil. Top-ranking Brazil beat Chile with a 1-0 match score in Santiago, with substitute Everton Ribeiro scoring the only goal. With this Brazil have 21 points after winning all seven matches, while Chile has six points.
Argentina, on the other hand, defeated Venezuela 3–1 at the Olympic Stadium in Caracas. Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa, and Angel Correa scored for Argentina while Messi, who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after the Barcelona club, failed to score a goal. Yeferson Soteldo scored Venezuela’s only goal. With this win, Argentina is second in the table with 15 points. Venezuela has slipped to the bottom of the 10-team round with four points.
The top four teams will automatically qualify for next year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The fifth-placed team will take part in an international playoff. In other matches, Ecuador defeated Paraguay 2–0, Colombia drew 1–1 to Bolivia in La Paz, Peru and Uruguay also drew 1–1.
