Barcelona striker Lionel Messi was subject of discussion for former Spain and Real Madrid head coach Vicente Del Bosque.
“I feel I belong to the club I have given 36 years of my life to. It’s Real Madrid. But I can’t blame anyone for my decision to change clubs. It is important to be a good professional, to defend the colors of your club, and to look at the team’s affairs with enthusiasm,” Del Bosque said to Marca.
“Messi has shown exactly what he has done for his club and shown that he is the best player in the history of football. To continue playing for Barcelona is an ideal decision for him, but of course, he can do whatever he wants.”
The Argentine has been in the club’s system since 2000 and on Monday he has repeated former Barсa midfielder Xavi’s record for the most matches played for the club.
This season Messi has scored 21 goals and seven assists in 25 La Liga games.
