Boateng: it’s important to continue knee-taking in Champions League

When the Champions League returns, Bayern Munich Jerome Boateng wants to continue the powerful knee-taking in support of Black Lives Matter because racism “is not something that goes in a month.”

“I think it’s very strong and very necessary for us to carry on this in the Champions League, particularly in the final, of course, because the entire world will look,” he said to The Independent

“I think it’s important to continue, as well as in other sports, and hopefully in some sports that aren’t back yet, they’ll join us eventually.”

“I think of racism-you can never do enough to see how bad it is in the world right now.” he underlines.

“We can’t claim, well, we ’re doing enough about this nation or this situation – I don’t think so, so if we were doing something we wouldn’t always be in this position and speak about it. I’m really straightforward on that because everybody needs to know it’s not something that’s going on in a month.”
