Uli Hoeness, Honorary president of Bayern Munich stated that to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen the Bundesliga champions will not make an effort this summer.
In the German top flight, the 21-year-old has scored 12 goals and six assists during the 2019-20 Bundesliga campaign and has emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Europe.
Hoeness has recently invested £40 m on Leroy Sane, thus he admitted that Bayern can not approve a deal for Havertz.
Naturally, the playmaker has been tied to transfers elsewhere, with Chelsea reportedly leading the chase for the signing of Havertz.
Speaking to German newspaper FAZ, Hoeness said: “I am sure that after Leroy Sane there will be no major transfers this year. This has nothing to do with the quality of Havertz. We all think he is a very, very good player.”
