To make an offer for the Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara during the transfer window this summer, Manchester United has reportedly been invited by Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old, who was strongly linked to a move to Liverpool, is expected to leave the Allianz Arena in the weeks to come as his contract expires next June.
A recent report claimed United had also opened discussions with representatives of the midfielder to determine if an agreement could be reached.
According to ESPN Red Devils has now been invited by Bayern to enter the bid, as the treble winners want to drive up the Spaniard’s price.
So far Liverpool has allegedly refused to meet the asking price of the German team and Thiago is believed to be valued at £27 m by the side of Hansi Flick.
The former youngster from Barcelona contributed three goals and two last-minute assists in 40 club level outings.
