Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic said after their Champions League embarrassment the La Liga giants want revenge this season.
Pjanic is quoted by Daily Mail: “This squad needs to take revenge for what happened in Lisbon and prove that it was a massive mistake.”
“Our intention is to go step by step: to start the league, which is not going to be easy. And there will be 5 or 6 candidates in the Champions League to win the trophy. Starting in March, with the Champions League knockout stages and the final stretch of the league title, a new season will begin within the season itself; that’s when we have to be at full throttle.”
“The respect in the football community has always been earned by these players, and I don’t believe they have to prove anything to anybody. But there are mistakes in football, and I don’t believe there’s a Barca player who doesn’t want to demonstrate that 8-2 was just that, an accident.”
“I have no doubt about that. I talked with some of them and they didn’t lose an ounce of faith in themselves. It wasn’t easy for anyone last year, so I’m confident that we’re going to have a good season this year because we have good talent.”
“In today’s game, nothing is simple. We know that Barca is experiencing changes, the newcomers will need some time to adapt, however, we will succeed.”
