This summer Barcelona is trying to arrange another exchange of players claims Catalan Sport.
In the previous exchange, with Italian champions Juventus, Miralem Pjanic, and Arthur swapped between Barca and Juve. Now the Catalans also want to exchange players with Manchester City.
The purpose behind this exchange is that Barca wants to sign Eric Garcia, a 19-year-old stopper who left Barcelona three years ago and signed for Manchester City. Barcelona now wants to bring him back, and it is helped by the fact that Garcia wants to leave England because he is dissatisfied with his status at the club for which he has played 12 games in the league this season.
“Contacts have begun, but negotiations have not yet taken place because no club wants to agree on anything before the end of this Champions League season. It is only known that Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo and City’s Joao Cancelo could be involved in the exchange,” writes Sport and claims that behind this exchange stands Agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendes is the agent of both Semed and Cancelo and wants to secure a better contract for Semedo, and Cancelo has failed to adapt to English football and is looking for a new club for him.
