Liverpool is reportedly in line for another £ 5 m payment from Barcelona following a decision by the La Liga club to welcome the playmaker back to the fold.
The future of Philippe Coutinho was in much speculation but on Tuesday, agent Kia Joorabchian revealed that his client is now expected to stay at Camp Nou.
This summer Bayern Munich turned down the opportunity to sign the Brazil international permanently, the club with he spent 2019-20 on loan, and has struggled to hold a regular place in Barca’s lineup.
Under Ronald Koeman, the 28-year-old is now likely to play more regularly this coming season and Liverpool is set to receive yet another financial bonus, the Spanish outlet Sport claims.
Once the player makes 15 more appearances for the club Barca has to pay £ 5 m to Liverpool, according to the terms of Coutinho’s contract when he swapped Merseyside to Catalonia in January 2018.
Another add-on to the deal included a £4.5 m payment if Coutinho won the Champions League, which he achieved with Bayern during his loan stint.
