Arsenal reportedly made improvements in negotiations on a midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai agreement for Red Bull Salzburg.
It is expected that the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic will result in Arsenal having a quieter transfer window than originally planned.
Later in 2020, Szoboszlai could move on to a high-profile European side, Gunners held discussions about him according to French journalist Manu Lonjon.
When asked for the signing of the Hungary international who is prepared to rival Paris Saint-Germain, Lonjon claimed that Arsenal and AC Milan are in advanced talks.
Only two years contract is left with the 19-year-old and this summer Salzburg will be considering offers for one of their key men.
Szoboszlai, who could cost £25 m, has scored 15 goals and 22 assists for the Austrian club from his 58 outings.
