Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting received praise from team-mate Ander Herrera after their impressive win.
After the forward emerged as the unexpected hero in a spectacular victory over Atalanta in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera hailed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s influence and fighting spirit.
For the first time since 1995 PSG reached the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition following the majestic 2-1 triumph over Atalanta in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Trailing to the first-half strike of Mario Pasalic, PSG hero Marquinhos equalized in the 90th minute before Choupo-Moting shattered the hearts of Atalanta in the third minute of midweek stop time.
In 2018 Choupo-Moting surprisingly joined PSG from Stoke City’s relegated Premier League side.
“Everyone is very important here,” Herrera told RMC Sport. “I want to speak about Choupo because he is at the end of his contract, he is fighting to help, he is training as if every day was the last day of his life.”
“That is the atmosphere that we have in the team. I played today but if I don’t play in the next match, I will be ready to help. It is the atmosphere between us.”
