After a vacation abroad the anonymous player is said to have tested positive after returning to the United Kingdom.
He must now face a period of self-isolation, and as Saints began to prepare for the pre-season he will train on his own.
Southampton should now check if other first-team players have also been infected.

Until the start of the new Premier League season, it’s less than a month and there is a growing concern that players returning from holidays and potentially getting a positive test for Covid-19 may have a huge effect on the coming season.
Liverpool player has also been reported to have tested positive for the virus.
