Barcelona close on signing the agreement with goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. For six years at Camp Nou, the German has enjoyed a strong spell, making a total of 224 appearances at all competitions.
Although a long-term first-team player, the 27-year-old is allegedly one of the club’s lowest-earning, high-profile players.
An offer has yet to be presented to Ter Stegen which will tempt him to renew his contract with the Catalan giants, partly because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to Sport.
However, the stopper has a deal until 2022, Barcelona is keen to reach a positive resolution in order to maintain its value in the market for transfer.
While it is unlikely that Ter Stegen will be short of offers should he become available, the report suggests that he would prefer to remain at the leaders of La Liga.
