Alonso moves ahead of Bin Chilwell under Tuchel looking to sign a new deal

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is rumored to be open to signing a new deal with the club.

Since Thomas Tuchel arrived at Stamford Bridge the Spaniard has been an important player for the former PSG manager.

The 30-year-old only made three Premier League appearances during the 2020-21 season under the Englishman and looked to be on his way out of the Blues because of his battle for action under Frank Lampard.

However, Alonso has featured under Tuchel in five of Chelsea’s six league games and now looks to be ahead of Ben Chilwell in the pecking order for the left-sided wing-back role.

According to The Sun, the defender is willing to enter into a new arrangement with the London giants, as he seems to be an important part of the team.
