To beat Manchester City’s 100-point record was never a “goal” for the Reds, with Jurgen Klopp’s side still reveling in a 30-year first title triumph, claims Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
The Brazilian goalkeeper told beIN Sports about losing out on another piece of history: “The number of points wasn’t a target for us to be honest, so you start thinking ‘we might break a mark’ so it’s a nice thing even if you don’t break it, it’s okay.”
“We’ll play to become champions, the most important thing is our goal, and that’s our main goal and we’ve achieved that. Everything we do today, the tiny things in a negative way, will take off the shine we have for becoming champions.”
“We need to get the best out of this. We need to learn from our mistakes and just keep playing, continue to play, and give our best.”
“We need to find our path to playing again. We began in a positive way this night but we did not finish well.”
