Siena announced the departure of coach Alberto Gilardino after starting 2021 with a 2-2 draw with Sporting Trestina last night.
According to La Gazzeta, Siena and Gilardino have reached a mutual agreement to part ways, with the club second in Serie D.
Gilardino has agreed to end his contract with the club and leaves the club after nine Serie D games, with two in hand and four points behind leaders Tiferno Lerchi.
“ACN Siena 1904 and coach Alberto Gilardino, in the analysis of the current situation, agree to suspend the current collaboration,” the club wrote in a statement.
“The club is particularly grateful to Alberto Gilardino for having made it possible in just 10 days to organise a team capable of facing a Serie D championship which currently sees ACN Siena virtually in the lead.
“In thanking Alberto Gilardino for his professionalism and dedication, we wish him good look for his career.”
