The Qatari club reported that Xavi Hernandez coach of Al-Sadd got the green light to rejoin training with his players on Wednesday following his positive coronavirus diagnosis.
In their Stars League game against Al-Khor, he will not be able to join Al-Sadd after catching the illness, the former Barcelona great had announced on Saturday.
On Wednesday the coach was able to begin regular activities, with the Brazilian-born Qatar player Rodrigo Tabata already joining his current team in training.
“Al-Sadd Club’s first football squad started their training today, Wednesday, at the club’s sub-stadium, in preparation for the upcoming Al-Ahly match in the Stars League’s nineteenth round on the next Monday, the third of August at the South Stadium,” Al-Sadd announced in a statement posted on the club’s official website.
“Maran witnessed Coach Xavi Hernandez ’s return on Wednesday after healing from COVID 19, which he was reported to some 14 days earlier.”
“Everybody in the team was eager to accept the coach, particularly the leader facing intense difficulties during the next point. Team also welcomed the newcomer Rodrigo Tabata, who entered a season-long deal with the leader one.”
“Tabata went through special preparation under the guidance of personal trainers to ready him for group activities during the next stage.”
