During the COVID-19 crisis, players had to face ‘unacceptable’ harm, some were ‘forced to vacate their apartments.’ Protesting the same The Italian Players’ Association released a statement.
Football Italia says the situation further down the divisions is not that easy, While Serie A stars are forced to take pay cuts in order to help clubs survive the lockout.
The AIC statement read “We cannot understand why this situation has immediately and exclusively fallen on the position of the players.”
“The primary thought was to, unjustifiably and illegitimately, sacrifice first and foremost the amateur male and female players. The salaries were arbitrarily cut and, in some situations, players were asked to vacate their apartments, without considering that often amateur sporting activity helps to sustain entire families.”
“This is why the situation is unacceptable and we need a decisive and substantial intervention from all components, seeing as today we are fighting together for the same result.”
“The situation is absolutely serious, the players risk not receiving any wages from March to September/October, and anyone who thinks they can ‘cut corners’ with amateur players does not understand the sporting, economic and above all social situation of these men and women.”
