In RB Leipzig’s dressing room Tyler Adams highlighted the high degree of excitement after Thursday’s win over Atletico Madrid set up a semi-final of the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain.
Except for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, since becoming the first German team to make it to the semi-finals since Schalke in 2010-11, Adams said to UEFA.com: “We’re really, really happy.”
“We know Paris is a fantastic squad, we’ve seen what they’ve achieved against Atalanta, so they’ve got really good talent.”
Leipzig is now expected to challenge the title-holders of the Ligue 1 PSG at the Stadio da Luz on Tuesday, but Adams and his team-mates are not scared.
“It’s about recovering in the best way, keeping everything ready mentally, and focusing on the game plan,” said 21-year-old Adams.”
“We’re confident, you’ve seen it today.”
