FC Goa, who have already been knocked out of the knockout race, will look to register their first win of the AFC Champions League (ACL) football tournament in their final match of Group E against UAE’s Al Wahda on Thursday. If Goa’s team succeeds in registering a win, it will become the first Indian club to register a win in the tournament.
FC Goa had a chance to win against Qatar’s Al Rayan on Monday but the team had to be content with a 1–1 draw after missing the goal in the 89th minute. With just three points from five matches, FC Goa has been eliminated from the group for a place in the Round of 16. Last year’s runners-up Persepolis FC and Al Wahda have 12 and 10 points respectively in each of their five matches.
Al Wahda’s team will go into the match on Thursday after their 1-0 win in their previous match on Monday with increased confidence. FC Goa’s team will also have increased morale as the team had a chance to win the first leg on 17 April.

In that match, Abu Dhabi’s team kept the ball in their possession for most of the time, but FC Goa made a good counter attack and scored two brilliant moves, including Brendan Fernandes’ shot from the goal post.
In the last match, FC Goa held a 1-1 tie with Al-Rayyan which disappointed the coach Juan Ferrando. The team lost to be the first Indian team to win in AFC Champions League. The Indian Super League’s club coach Ferrando said it’s difficult and sad to lose in the last minutes and the team wanted to win the match for the people of India. However, FC Goa still hopes to mark their win in AFC Champions League in their next match against Al Wahda.
