DFB reported that the Germany match against Switzerland will take place without fans in Cologne on Tuesday (20:45 CEST).

Following negotiations with the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, as a result of the elevated occurrence rate, which is considerably higher than the limit of 35 new cases per 100,000 population, the Cologne Health Department has agreed to cancel plans to allow spectators in the stadium to watch the game.

The plan to allow 300 spectators to reach the stadium will not be allowed by the DFB, due to high incidence levels in Cologne.

Over the last seven days, there have been 66.3 cases per 100,000 people, reported the Robert Koch Institute. Cities with a rate of over 50 are considered to be high-risk.

Last week, the health authorities canceled plans to allow 9,200fans to compete against Turkey at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion last Wednesday.

For one of the national team’s matches in this calendar year, the German football association still plans to offer free tickets to fans.

Germany has two matches scheduled for the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, 11 November against the Czech Republic, and 14 November against Ukraine.
