Europa League: Osimhen’s late double saved a loss for Napoli

In the Europa League Group C opener Leicester City appeared to be on course to defeat Napoli, but Victor Osimhen earned a point for the Italian club. Napoli made a comeback with Victor Osimhen’s late double and earn a 2-2 draw against Leicester City in the European football tournament.

Ayoze Perez of Leicester City scored the opening goal of the match in just 9 minutes from the starting whistle putting Napoli behind in the Europa League Group C opener at the King Power Stadium. Ayoze Perez was one of five starting line-up changes made for Leicester by Brendan Rodgers. King Power had a carnival atmosphere to welcome European football back to Leicester, and the match – believed to be a fight between two parties of the favorites to win the competition.

Harvey Barnes sealed the three points for Leicester in the 64th minute as he scored the second goal but Osimhen re-entered the game with a beautiful lob over Kasper Schmeichel. Victor Osimhen helped Napoli to maintain the unbeaten start to the season intact when he headed home a dramatic equalizer in the 87th minute. Osimhen missed several chances in the first half before scoring two goals after the break.

Wilfred Ndidi received a second yellow card in stoppage time to compound Leicester’s disappointing end to the game. However, the match ended with a 2-2 match score after Napoli and Leicester draw against.
