Belgium and Russia will start their respective Euro 2020 campaigns on Saturday night and the Gazprom Arena will host as the two teams prepare to face off in Group B. Roberto Martinez’s men have their sights set on becoming the world’s number one ranked nation, while Russia has realistic hopes of finishing in the group’s top two. Here’s what you should know about Belgium vs Russia Euro 2020 prediction and lineup.

Belgium lineup: Courtois; Alderweireld, Denayer, Vertonghen; Castagne, Tielemans, Dendoncker, Carrasco; Mertens, Hazard; Lukaku

In the Champions League final, Kevin De Bruyne underwent surgery for face injuries, therefore he is unlikely to start against Russia.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Real Madrid winger gain momentum heading into the tournament as Roberto Martinez will have to manage Eden Hazard given the injury issues.

Axel Witsel is in Belgium’s team, but given his catastrophic Achilles injury at the start of the year, it would be surprising if he participated at all this summer.

Jason Denayer and Thomas Vermaelen will compete to complete Belgium‘s back three on Saturday.

Russia lineup: Shunin; Barinov, Dzhikiya, Semenov; Fernandes, Zobnin, Ozdoev, Kuzyaev; Miranchuk, Golovin; Dzyuba

Captain Artem Dzyuba will take the charge to lead Russia and the team is anticipated to use the same 3-4-2-1 system as Belgium.

Yuri Zhirkov, 37, is preparing to play in his fifth international event for Russia, and he is still in the Russia squad.

Belgium is anticipated to glide through this group, but the likely absence of both Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne for their first game makes them a unique possibility. Russia in the last three games with Belgium has conceded at least three goals. Russia is leading up to Euro 2020 losing only once in last five games.

In this match Russia may see an opening against the injury-plagued Red Devils, however, a Belgium team with Hazard and De Bruyne blazing on all cylinders would have no trouble marching to an easy victory.

However, Cherchesov’s side has been deceiving in recent months, and after defeating them twice in qualification, we can expect Belgium to win for the third time in a row to kick off their Euro 2020 ambition in style.

Our Prediction: Belgium 2-0 Russia
