Watford 0-0 Everton

The final whistle blows, and the game finishes goalless between Watford and Everton. It was a quiet first half, with neither side able to create a shot-on-target.

The visitors started the second half the better and could’ve gone in front on 53 minutes when Foster made an excellent save to tip a deflected Richarlison shot wide.

Gray should’ve put his side into the lead after 62 minutes, but he scuffed a shot wide of the left post after Iwobi had picked him out.

Keane and Mykolenko also saw efforts saved by Foster, and the scoreline ended 0-0.

So, what’s next?

The point for the Toffees means that they remain in 16th, though they extend the gap to the relegation zone to two points.

They will host Brentford on Sunday as they look to push themselves further away from the drop.

The Hornets, meanwhile, remain second bottom, but they do end a run of six straight defeats.

Although they are already relegated, they will play Leicester City next as they try and finish with a flourish.

Frank Lampard Post-match reaction:

Lampard said, “There is work to be done, but we have put ourselves in a decent position if you look at our recent results.

“There were not enough clear chances. But if you are not at your best, you need to make sure you pick up a point. But, unfortunately, that is not something we’ve done often enough this season.

“Watford had players playing with something to lose. They had nothing on the game, which can sometimes be difficult to come against. They gave us a game.”

On whether he was paying attention to the Leeds United result, Lampard added: “At half-time and the end of the game, I was told the result. But, of course, you can’t control that, but all in all, it’s not a stormy night.

“It doesn’t always go your way, but you take the clean sheet and move on if it doesn’t.”
