Diego Simeone said the 4-0 thrashing of Atletico Madrid to Bayern Munich left a “bad taste” but declined to blame his team for the way the defeat went.
The loss was Atletico’s joint-worst in the competition, as they managed just one shot on goal, but head coach Simeone thought that there were still some good ones to take.
“I am left with the bad taste of defeat,” Simeone said in his post-match media conference claim Goal.
“But I am left with things that for the future will do us very well. I do not know if we made too many mistakes or if it was the quality of the opponent.”
“So I am left with the attitude of the team, and until the end, we looked for the goal. The forcefulness of the opposition has made an important difference.”
“Bayern is in a great moment, they are a great team. But you have to see the good performance of Hector Herrera, Yannick Carrasco.”
