Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after the first leg of the Europa League 1/16 final against Sociedad (4-0), has commented on the debut of forward Amad Diallo, who came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute.
“He’s getting closer and closer [to taking to the pitch from the opening minutes]. We let him enjoy the opening 10 minutes in the closing stages at 3-0,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.
“When will he be in the starting line-up? We will know after [Sunday’s] game against Newcastle United. He’s played a couple of games for the reserves and, of course, there are still a number of substitutes who want to be in the starting line-up. We’ll see how much playing time he gets.”
