Amazon prime video is going to air a new show named “El Presidente”, which will portrait the dealings of South American football, through the eyes of deceased former Argentine football boss Julio Grondona.
Grondona was identified as “the godfather” and directed Argentine football for more than 3 decades.
He died in 2014, and the Amazon show to be streamed on Friday is an eight-part series, which has conveyed stories about dirty deals with football connected with Grondona.
“I find it really fascinating to picture Don Julio presenting the tale from the other side,” told Reuters Armando Bo, who is the founder of the film, director, and executive producer.
“And he is saying us in a confident way, having experienced it and with nothing to risk.”
“It’s one of those situations where the reality is more unusual than fiction and I was sort of compelled to make it with humor and satire.” said Bo, who earned an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2015 for “Birdman.”
