Alessandro Del Piero, a former Italian striker condemned the actions of Cristiano Ronaldo.

At the end of the 2-2 World Cup 2022 qualification match against Serbia, Juventus and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo threw his captain’s armband on the pitch.

“It’s an overreaction. He shouldn’t have behaved like that,” Del Piero said to ESPN.

“Getting angry is normal, talking in high tones discussing such an episode with the referees is normal. Throwing the captain’s armband and walking away like that is too much for a man who is a captain and an idol like Ronaldo.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
