VAR made a decision to not disallow Tottenham’s opener for a handball in their 2-0 win over West Ham, this left David Moyes fuming.

Moyes said to Sky Sports: “I can’t believe they ruled it as a goal. Do the rules say that every handball that leads to a goal is disallowed? They have a brilliant goal ruled against Sheffield United for that-so they haven’t sorted this one out? What was on VAR tonight? They need to be subbed, I know that. Not very good, eh?”

“This is the rule. I don’t think it’s a very good rule but that’s the rule. Not for them to give this tonight? I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it.”

In his post-match press conference, Moyes later added: “I thought any ball that hit an arm and led to a goal would be chalked off.”

“I wonder who made the decision? At Sheffield United, we scored a very nice goal in the 90th minute and the boy said it was handball and we did not believe it.”

“Did I believe that’s a fair rule? No, I don’t. Whatever that was on VAR tonight wasn’t doing his work well and he didn’t meet the guidelines we were instructed to deal by.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
