At Aston Villa, David De Gea spoke of his tremendous joy in exceeding the performance of Peter Schmeichel in total for Manchester United, on Thursday night’s 3-0 victory.
“Sorry to Schmeichel,” David said smilingly, according to Manchester United club official app.
“This is amazing. Which means I’ve been here for a long time and I worked at the highest of very, very good and I’m very, really happy. I’m glad to play so many games with this club.”
“I hope I have 400 more games coming! Yeah, I am very pleased.”
Alex Stepney, the only man De Gea now sits behind in the United goalkeeper’s all-time appearance list.
