Crotone came closer to the other teams in the fight to stay with three points as the last-placed team of the Italian football championship convincingly defeated Benevento 4-1 (2-0) at home in the 18th round.

With an own goal by Glik (4-ag), Nwankwo (29, 54) Crotone took the lead in the very opening of the match then solved the question of the winner with two goals, one in each half. Vulic (65) increased to 4-0 before Iago Falque (82) mitigated Benevento’s defeat.

Crotone is still last with 12 points, but now it is only one point behind 18th Torino and 19th Parma, while 16th Cagliari and 17th Genoa have two points more.

Parma was close to an important away win against Sassuolo in the regional derby, but in the last minute of overtime, the home team saved a point with a goal from a penalty kick.

Kucka (37), and Đuričić (90 + 4-11m) led Parma and equalized in the final 1-1. Sassuolo thus remained eighth with 30 points, one less than sixth Atalanta and seventh Lazio.

The Results:

Crotone 4 – 1 Benevento

Sassuolo 1 -1 Parma

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
