Europe’s top-flight football clubs may lose about 4 billion euros income due to the new coronavirus pandemic, a report released by the organization that represents the states, Reuters reports.
The European Club Association (ECA)’s study has also indicated that even though they are played in full but the greatest defeats will be experienced next season.
“So far as we can see today, the financial effect of COVID-19 on European clubs is still a profound surprise, particularly with certain tournaments being up and running again,” ECA chief executive Charlie Marshall said.
“When the game continues the financial impact doesn’t end. But it will proceed into the next season and we need to take long-term steps to build a more competitive football industry.”
