Confirmed – Leicester City cannot afford Coutinho

Brendan Rodgers confessed that during this summers’ transfer window Leicester City will not be able to bear the price of Barcelona Attacker Philippe Coutinho.

This summer Brazil International in search of new pastures is generally expected to abandon Camp Nou. Brazil International spent the 2019-20 loan campaign in Bayern Munich.

Leicester is among a number of clubs to be credited with an interest in the former Liverpool playmaker.

Although the 27-year-old is ‘away out of the club’s price range’ admitted Foxes boss Rodgers. Philippe Coutinho has a deal at Camp Nou until June 2023.

Rodgers told the Eamonn and the Gaffers podcast, “I’ve seen lots of speculation around young Phil, I don’t think… Philippe’s a wonderful player, a brilliant talent, but he would be someone who is way out of our price bracket.”

Coutinho has been in fairly good form for Bayern, in the ongoing season contributing nine goals and eight assists in 32 competitions.
