Christian Pulisic saw a transfer door open, after showing his value at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and in 2019 he moved to Chelsea and acknowledged that it was his turning point as he always tried to test himself in the Premier League.

Having broken through in Germany under Jurgen Klopp, the 21-year-old made Impressive progress in recent years for club and country.

Pulisic would likely have found plenty of other options to consider had he delayed the decision to leave Dortmund, but he jumped at the opportunity to move for Stamford Bridge.

The USMNT star talked about his career path to BT Sport, “I always wanted to play in Europe.”

“For me, it was certainly a great first move to go to Dortmund. It was fantastic, and I learned so much. I grew up there when I was 15, I moved over there.”

“Being here now and moving to the Premier League when I was 20 I think it all worked really well and I’m very pleased with the road.”

“I was optimistic and feeling like I had a strong few years in the Bundesliga, so naturally with the opportunity to come to a team like Chelsea – it was really something I couldn’t turn down.”

“I really feel like the time was totally correct and I’m just glad I made the decision.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
